27 Sep 02 Couple of days ago a email from Electric Artists (please note NOT EA) reached my mailbox:
We're [Electric Artists] going to be doing a Q&A with Geoff Crammond, for starters, and we thought you might like to get your readers involved. If you post an announcement on your site allowing your readers to submit their questions, Geoff will answer them and we'll get them back to you to post on your site.
We [Electric Artists] have been hired to market the game in the U.S. and we'd like to make your readers aware of the game and give them a chance to win the game and ask Geoff Crammond questions about the game if they already have it. It would be appreciated by your readers and we like letting people who may not know about the game know how fun it is.
Just go to the following thread in our Board, where EVERYBODY (without registering) can submit his question(s): GP4 Q&A Thread.

04 Jul 02 New information source for Webmasters available in a new Forum Board.
02 Jul 02 GPx-Webmasters: Hi, I [Matthias Marquardt (EMAC)] do not understand, how it could happen again and again and again, that some GPxWebsites are publishing GP4 car updates which are more or less obvious LEECHED.
It's nothing "new" to the community, that with the start of a new GP-Game various people are trying to get a Name in the community by being the first who creates nice skins... Please check the Readme's of files which will be send to you, check the "Hall of Shame". People like Luca Cantaluppi are well known for their "skills"... We have also seen now this "new" Mr.Evil around (who have already asked some webmasters to remove "his" stuff) and a guy called "PG" who made 100% copy & paste from Ralph's F1-200x cars. There are so many right now around, even old known painters like Guyon Waltmans are copy and paste parts of Ralph's F1-cars without asking for permission or even giving ANY credits... (and write us as excuse, that they had no "time" to make these copy parts by themselves...)

I just like to ask you, to be a little bit more sensible in this issue. I cant find better words then Marc Aarts: "If you are guys I believe you are, you have been involved in GPx editing for a long time and it comes as a shock to me that you are actively trying to encourage people to steal from others. Guys like Ralph who make original artwork spent countless hours on trying to give everyone the best possible cars and this is what they get for that. Shameless rip-offs, which are done in an exceptionally poor way as well I must add. What a nice way to thank the original authors for all the hard work they have done over the years."

Ralph and others spending hundreds of hours creating nice textures and other add-ons for us - so we at least should pay tribute to that by checking the content of files which we are going to upload on our servers. And might send a email to "authors" who are offering us their files asking them for sources which they might have used.

We are ALL just going to loose, when Ralph get's pissed off & quits cause these leechers will find always webmasters who are putting "theire" files online. So please CHECK the content befor you are uploading files to your filebase - be aware of the LEECHER Problem. If this can not be stopped I am pretty sure there will be no cool sources for us all anymore which can be copied by these strange guys...

Here some word's of Ralph posted in our Forum [if you have not read it already]:
I am not willing to do anything for GP4 right now nor I will release the pieces I already did. One reason is already mentioned: the problems with the GP4 carshapes, texturmapping etc.
The other reason is that there actually is already a lot of my work in some 2002 cars for GP4, because some people copied and pasted my work for F1 200x into GP4 templates, some used parts some put whole cars 1:1 into GP4 tga-files without making a single pixel of themselves. I am totally fed up with that and I don't want to support that. But please mote that these are NOT the cars I did or would have made.
Regards
   Ralph Hummerich

24 Jun 02 Read/see some details about the textures of GP4 in our Forum...
20 Jun 02 have come to the shops in many European countries - When you start it the first time do not be disappointed - drive it and you will realize, that the development team have focused on the gameplay & AI and this makes this game just GREAT!
Please DO NOT ask/email us, when we are going to release a carset for GP4 - It's that we are currently able to extract AND insert back textures into the game [many thanks to Sven Mitlehner]. BUT right now the WAY of updating is far away from being END USER FRIENDLY - so we hope there will be a solution for this in the next couple of weeks.
18 Jun 02 This Site is now spitted into a Section, a Section and a Section with own Seperate "News" Sections! - We hope that it will be much easier for you to use & navigate the site.
So if you are linking this document you might want to adjust it in the next couple of days to the new structure [see the "Linking us" document for details].

Please note, that your help is appreciated to find better cars. Also we keep on surfing the web to find better cars too.

And finally - All files part of the EMAC's collection have been authorized by the origin GP4 Designers - This means before a file becomes part of any EMAC carset collection - it's ensured, that the original Designer have agreed, that his work, effort and time becomes part of the collection.

EMAC just collects & picks [in our opinion] the best for GP4 [carset] - all credits go the original designers.
